Dowling College to Place Full Rudolph Scholarships into the Hands of Ten Deserving Freshmen

Dowling Provides Students With What They Need While Still Dealing With Recession

OAKDALE, NY – In recognition that economic wreckage caused by a downturn in the economy is continuing to affect students, ten valuable Rudolph Scholarships are being offered to top freshmen at Dowling College including tuition, fees, room & board. These generous scholarships, valued at $1 million dollars, were donated by the Rudolph family, and are available to ten incoming full-time undergraduate freshmen, with a high academic rank average.  The Rudolph Scholarship for Academic Excellence Program is an opportunity for students at the top of their classes to benefit from a personal college experience, at no cost.

These ten incoming freshmen will experience the many benefits at Dowling, including small class sizes that allow for 1-on-1 opportunities with their professors and no large lectures halls.  Classes taught by professors, not teaching assistants, and flexible course availability are some of the other features offered by Dowling. Supportive and nurturing faculty, administration and staff that are dedicated toward helping students achieve success inside and outside of the classroom and in life.

“The economists may have proclaimed the recession is over but there are few people, especially students, who have seen the economy get substantially better. For education to be sustained, we need programs such as these that recognize that students need an opportunity to develop and succeed,” stated Acting Dowling College President Scott Rudolph.
