Palm Coast, Florida – Feb 14, 2011- MatchBox Aeronautical Systems announced and demonstrated at the recent Sebring Expo an entire line of aviation electronics designed and engineered by pilots for pilots. With its engineering and manufacturing facility based in Palm Coast, Florida, (KXFL) MatchBox™ set its mission goals on delivering a host of electronic accessories for all pilots whether they are aircraft owners or not.
Beginning as a flight school owned and operated by a retired Flying Tigers/FedX pilot and partnering with a corporate pilot/electrical engineer, the Matchbox™ team set their sights on a void of peripheral aeronautical products missing in the aviation market. The goal was to design and build state of the art electronics with a high degree of accuracy at reasonable costs to the avid pilot supporting safety, comfort, and convenience.
Exhibiting remarkable attention was Matchbox’s™ Flag Ship handheld unit Flight Companion Model FC-1. This unit provides the pilot with all the necessary tools for a safe and comfortable flight.
By way of sophisticated electronics from German based Bosch GmbH company, National Semiconductor’s analog products division and micro computers made by Microchip Corporation the FC-1 houses an extremely accurate Altitude Alert system keeping the marriage of pilot and ATC happy, a digital Tank Timer for accurate fuel management, high powered headphone audio power amplifies for high quality audio with low noise levels, and a new and improved Cell phone interface system designed for incredibly low noise and harmonic distortion.
MatchBox™ also announced the availability of each feature set of the FC-1 sold separately in small compact cases………..about the size of a matchbox!
MatchBox President Randy Patterson, in announcing the company, said, “As a flight school and CFI we were always looking for portable accessory products that can help not only flight students but also veteran pilots. Now with my experience and my partners electrical engineering background we have the power to build it ourselves right here in the USA”
MatchBox Aeronautical Systems will be showing at this years Sun’n fun in Hanger E booth number E-31. Clearly something at Sun’n Fun to check out.
