MUSEUM OF AVIATION EDUCATION DEPARTMENT WORKSHOPS
The Museum of Aviation Education Department will hold two workshops, Science with Santa and STEM Flight Lab, on Saturday, December 17 in the Century of Flight Hangar.
In Science with Santa, Pre-K – 5th grade, students will make artificial snow. The Science with Santa workshop is three fun-filled hours, 9 am - 12 noon, making snow, having your picture taken with Santa, melting Reindeer Poop and much more.
Science with Santa is one of the Museum’s most popular workshops of the season. “Science with Santa is designed to encourage children to take time out during this busy season for some educational fun,” said Cindy Groves, Deputy Director of Education. Participants will perform a wide-range of experiments with a holiday theme. Since Santa loves science too, he will also be in attendance to take pictures with each student.
The STEM Flight Lab workshop will allow students in 8th –12th grades to participate in experiments studying the principles of flight during this three hour workshop from 9 am to 12 pm.
Students will create and test flying machines to test Bernoulli's principle and study how a plane lifts. Students will tour the Museum of Aviation and participate in a brief Mission Quest demo inside the Flight Simulators.
This flight experiment will improve the development of students’ communication, leadership, problem solving and team-building skills.
