New innovations from North Wing

North Wing has been designing and manufacturing ultralight trikes, wings, and hang gliders for fifteen years. New features for 2-place trikes

North Wing has three new design innovations for the 2012 models of our 2-place Scout XC and Sport X2 trikes, and they are also available now as retrofit options for your current trike. Even though some pilots may not be able to afford a new trike with the latest features, it is nice to know that you can upgrade your trike to enjoy these new design innovations. Aerofoil Chrome Moly Mast

The dual mast that had been round is now made from our special made aerofoil Chrome Moly tube. This new mast offers three advantages. The torsional strength of the Aerofoil tube deters the twisting effect that can occur in flflight as the wing yaws. This aids in the ability for the trike and wing to track together as one unit during turns. Overall flight stability is improved in turns and at faster speeds, perfect for trikes such as the Scout XC powered by the Rotax 912 with the Quest GT5 Wing. Additional benefits are the drag reduction with the airfoil profile tubing, and the mast is even stronger with the new Chrome Moly tubing.

 

Fiberglass Leaf Spring Suspension

Another new feature is the leaf spring suspension. The leaf spring makes for clean landing gear with no extra drag and complexity, as we are able to eliminate the drags struts and the side spring struts, with no extra weight added. The advantages are less drag, an easier suspension to work on, and better feel in landing overall and cross winds. Better tracking at higher landing speeds. Along with the new leaf spring gear you will get the high-quality Matco aircraft brakes on the 2012 models.

 

Electric adjustable Front Seat

Instructors can now easily adjust the front seat position for your students within seconds with the new electric adjustable front seat. We can retrofit these new features on either the 912 or the 582 trikes that are 2004 or newer at our factory, give us a call!
