See Sam's New Painting at AirVenture Oshkosh!

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is almost here. The huge event starts on July 25 and runs through July 31. That gives you plenty of time to come by the Lyons Studio Booth.

Sam and Mindy will be in Building B, Booth 2024 all week long. We have a smaller booth than in past years but there will be much to see.

We need your help too. The painting you see above ... that Sam just finished ... needs a name. If you have any ideas, submit them by emailing Mindy@LyonsStudio.com.

Here's some background on the event that Sam's painting is based on:

On May 20, 1932, Amelia Earhart took off from Newfoundland, Canada, at 7:12 p.m. in her red Lockheed Vega. She intended to fly to Paris to copy Charles Lindbergh's solo flight. Her flight was filled with dangers, from rapidly changing weather to a broken altimeter, to gasoline leaking into the cockpit.

When she brought her plane down after 15 hours and 18 minutes (according to one account) she wasn’t in Paris. Instead, she landed in a pasture at Culmore, north of Derry, Northern Ireland. When a farm hand asked, "Have you flown far?" Amelia famously replied, "From America." The site now is the home of a small museum, the Amelia Earhart Centre.

We'd also like to get a feel for the popularity of a Limited Edition print of this painting. Would you buy one? Know someone who would like it? Just trying to get some Pre-Oshkosh feedback. All comments are appreciated.
