TECNAM the World’s Largest Manufacturer of Light Aircraft receives FAA Certification on the P2006T Twin!!

Tecnam North America

The P2006T, Tecnam Twin, which made its grand entrance in the United States at Oshkosh last summer has just received US certification by the FAA just in time for the 2010 Sun’N’Fun, this week in Lakeland Florida. This aircraft which has been turning heads and impressing a wide audience in the GA community, has earned its certification for VFR and analogue IFR operations last week. The aircraft was also approved for glass panel IFR certification in Europe, and this is expected to be completed in US over the next few months.

The P2006T has been very well received by the aviation community, particularly flight schools looking for an alternative twin aircraft on the flight line. The P2006T’s excellent flight characteristic, combined with its minimal operational costs has put the aircraft on the top of the list when shopping for newer replacement twin aircraft. Initial feedback indicates the P2006T will enjoy flight school success here in the United States, in the same fashion it has in Europe. Overseas schools are using the P2006T, and other Tecnam models for all ranges of instruction including military and commercial airline applications.

Excitement surrounding the new P2006T has certainly not been limited to flight schools. Awaiting certification, Tecnam North America (Master Distributors for United States and Canada) has been touring the country in a demo P2006T, and collecting orders along the way. Aside from the aircraft’s excellent performance, the GA population has been intrigued by the roominess and style the P2006T exhibits. Prospective customers are looking at the aircraft for uses as a personal aircraft, surveillance work, and even 135 operations.
