Hagerstown, MD, November 22, 2017 – Santa and Mrs. Claus welcomed over 100 children to Rider Jet Center at Hagerstown Airport last Saturday as part of the 3rd Annual Paws and Planes: Holiday at the Airport event. Families took pictures with him, participated in aviation and rescue activity stations, and met children’s book doglebrities Turbo the Flying Dog and his co-pilot, Olive.

A group of 15 Leesburg High School students who are members of the school’s Spark club got a tour of the Leesburg International Airport at Leesburg, Florida on Friday November 17, 2017 to learn something about the economic opportunities this airport offers Lake county.

OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (November 15, 2017) — Vic Syracuse, a longtime Experimental Aircraft Association member and aircraft builder from Locust Grove, Georgia, has been named chairman of the EAA Homebuilt Aircraft Council. He succeeds Rick Weiss, whose term as chairman ended this month.

The CiES digital fuel quantity system utilizes a high technology sensor system that allows repeatable accurate measurement of fuel in aircraft tank. This high technology and patented sensor system allows fuel measurements down to a change in fuel level to less than 0.03 of an inch. This measurement represents much less than 10ths of a gallon of AVGAS or Jet A. The non-contact measurement method insures a lifetime of operation providing the same consistent fuel level output in the cockpit with modern digital fuel indication.

October 30, 2017 – Two deadlines are approaching for individuals interested in applying for a Women in Aviation International (WAI) scholarship for 2018. In order to apply, you must be a WAI member as of November 1, 2017. Scholarship applications must be submitted online or postmarked no later than November 13, 2017.  All applications may be submitted online at and applicants are allowed to apply for up to three scholarships.
