NO. 1 BRITISH FLYING TRAINING SCHOOL MUSEUM PRESENTS
FLIGHTS OF OUR FATHERS 2010 - LEST WE FORGET
A salute to veterans of all service branches, recognizing the honor and valor of fallen service men and women, including the ultimate sacrifice of five young men from the City of Terrell.
Included in weekend events is a reunion of cadets who where trained at BFTS 1, their offspring and friends of the museum.


 

September 17, 2010 - HANGAR DINNER & DANCE   Enjoy aperitifs, dining and dancing to the Heritage Brass Band’s nostalgic big band sounds of the 40’s, also featuring the “the Andrews Sisters” at BFTS 1’s Hangar Dance.

September 18, 2010 - FLY-IN   Begins early Saturday morning at 7:15 am with a Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by a Pancake Breakfast with all the trimmings from 7:30 – 10:30 am.
Vintage planes begin arriving at 9:00 am and Tom Killebrew, author of "The RAF in Texas”, lectures at 10:00 am.
Opening Ceremonies and presentation of the flags by a Marine Color Guard Detail begin at noon to be attended by the public and local and State Dignitaries.
Throughout the day enjoy the planes, parachute jumps, static plane demonstrations, food, fun and more!
TICKETS: Adult tickets $5 each - $10 per Carload.


 

September 19, 2010 - MEMORIAL SERVICE   Commences at 3:00 pm honoring 20 BFTS cadets who lost their lives while in training at BFTS 1. at the Oakland Memorial Cemetery, Terrell.
