The Home

The four bedroom, three and a half bath custom built house has approx. 5,100 square foot of total living area and features an open floor plan and contemporary style with traditional nuances.  You'll find custom made solid white oak doors and solid white oak trim.  Floors are of travertine tile, carpet, and Santos Mahogany.  Efficient Andersen Windows are everywhere.  Baths and kitchens are equipped with American Standard, Kohler and Jado fixtures.  Kichler light fixtures can be found throughout, and you'll appreciate the convenience of the built-in vacuum system on all floors, in the breezeway and in the garage.

Two large decks - one in the rear of the house overlooks the Weaver Creek valley to the east, while the second deck on the south side is adjacent to the runway for excellent up-close airplane watching.  Between the oversized kitchen and the two-car garage is a 12 x 20 screened-in breezeway with dual ceiling fans. Double doors from the huge kitchen, and the same travertine tile flooring used inside the house, makes the screened breezeway an inviting outdoor living area with the relaxing sound of the water feature enhancing outdoor entertaining and meals.   The breezeway is connected to the main entry porch via sidewalk.   The front porch features a sitting bench and motion activated lighting.  The massive solid oak entry door opens to an arched entryway inside. Meanwhile, the walk-out basement has a large landing for guests to enjoy the morning sun or to sit and enjoy a crackling fire in the stone-surrounded fire pit.  The exterior of the home is a mix of stone, synthetic stucco, and rugged HardiPlank siding, which received a fresh coat of paint in the fall of 2014.  Up on the roof, the striking curved "eyebrows" over the panoramic windows are protected with a copper-infused roof coating which form a copper patina as they weather. The asphalt driveway was resealed in late summer 2015.

Inside - The Main Floor

Nine foot ceilings compliment wide and open floorplan making it perfect for entertaining and visiting, or relaxing in the sun with a good book.

A huge all-electric kitchen features an easy-to-clean smooth surface cooktop, down-draft vent, two full size sinks with disposals, convection oven, microwave/convection oven, wine cooler and storage, and large granite countertops.  The thoughtful cabinet design keeps small appliances out of sight and allows for abundant windows to enjoy the view outside.  The kitchen, just off the breezeway, flows into the large main living/dining room by way of a granite breakfast bar.  The living room has three full walls of windows and a towering two-story tall semi-vaulted ceiling giving an abundant sense of space.  The arched entryway leads to the dining area with views of the unique arched gas fireplace on the far wall.  An adjacent media room finishes out the main floor with plenty of room for the largest of TV's.

Inside - Upstairs

The large balcony/landing overlooks the living area below and is bookended with the signature arched windows, one over the main entry, the other over the fireplace.  Click through the pictures below for more!

The balcony/landing at the top of the stairs, currently an office, would also be ideal for a piano or a sitting area. Adjacent is a large bedroom, currently serving as an office and audio recording studio, that commands an excellent view of the airpark runway from the second floor.  Between the balcony/landing and adjacent office is a pass-through closet perfect for storage of file cabinets and office supplies.

Across the "bridge" and down the hall you'll find a full bath with granite countertops, with toilet, tub and shower in a separate room.  The second floor features a giant 12 x 12 foot laundry room with a full size sink, built-in ironing board and a laundry pass-through into the master bath.

In the master suite a 20-foot wall of glass-door closets provide abundant storage.  The bedroom is more than large enough for a king bed and a sitting area and has a wall-mounted 19" x 64" jewelry wardrobe with a large mirrored door. Separating the sleeping/sitting area from a huge garden tub is a gel-fuel fireplace that's viewable from either the bed or the tub.   In the master bath, a 6' x 5' travertine tile shower for two with sitting bench awaits.  Dual sinks and granite counter-tops rest on a clever floating vanity design and are illuminated by large skylights above.  More floor to ceiling closets, mirroring those found in the bedroom, allow for bathroom item storage and a large clothes hamper (accessible from the laundry room next door).  A separate toilet/bidet room rounds out the master bath.  Click through the pictures below for more!

Inside - The Basement & Misc

The fully finished basement features a mini kitchen with full size sink, two-burner gas stove, and under-counter refrigerator.  The kitchen area compliments the large living space that can serve as either a game room, work-out room, second living room or "mother-in-law quarters".  Two more bedrooms and a full bath make excellent guest accommodations on this floor.   A high-efficiency pellet stove can be used for supplemental heat.   The walkout basement opens to a large concrete landing with a family gathering area at the stone fire pit.

The over-sized two car garage is over 26 feet deep with 11 foot ceilings and houses the whole-house vacuum system and a deep freeze.

Two high-efficiency propane furnaces - one for the main floor and basement, a second for the top floor - keep the home warm in the winter.  In the summer, two super-efficient Carrier air conditioning units keep it cool and comfortable.  And should electric power be interrupted, outside a 15 kilowatt Generac propane fueled generator automatically keeps the lights on and important systems running.   Propane is hidden underground in a one-thousand gallon tank.

The 3,000 square feet, 50' deep by 60' wide steel building was constructed in conjunction with the excavation for the basement of the house. The fill from the house basement dig was used to create the pad for the hangar.   The 50' wide Hi-Fold hangar door opens to a height of nearly 14' and has a remote opener, similar to a garage door remote.

The hangar is heated AND air conditioned!

Heat is provided with a Reznor forced-air furnace and supplemented with a high-efficiency Vermont Castings catalytic wood burning stove.  The firewood rack next to the rear door holds an ample amount of wood.  And in the summertime, the 5-ton air conditioning unit keeps the space cool and dry.

Six skylights installed in the roof illuminate the space by day and five 400 watt metalarc light fixtures provide light at night.  The hangar has a full bath with tub and shower, a shop sink, mini-fridge, and cabinets in the kitchen area.  220v electrical is available to power big tools like a welder.  30 amp service wired for recreation vehicle use is also included.  The hangar is insulated with fiberglass insulation.  An interior wall kit was installed from floor to ceiling to hide and protect the extra added insulation.  A stand-up air compressor is securely bolted to the floor under the stairs that lead to the second floor 11' by 15' 'attic' storage space, where you'll find the electric hot water heater.

The 52' wide by 58' deep concrete pad connects the hangar to Mustang Drive, just a few feet from the hold short line for Runway 23.  A textured and stained concrete ramp connects the driveway to the double entry doors in the rear of the building.  With both rear doors open, the 6' wide access allows entry for larger stuff - tractor, motorcycle, ATV, etc. - without needing to open the Hi-fold door.  A keyless lock is installed on the rear door.

The Airpark

The centerpiece of Holley Mountain Airpark is a 4,795 long by 50' wide paved runway - 05 and 23 - with GPS approaches to both.  The runway is equipped with pilot-controlled lighting, REILs, and PAPI and VASI approach lighting.  A fresh overlay of asphalt and repainted markings were completed in November 2016.  A large visitor parking ramp is available on the 05 end.  Friendly controllers at Memphis Center provide instrument approach guidance and VFR flight following. A large lighted windsock is easily visible from any part of the runway. A brand new rotating beacon was installed on the nearby water tower in November of 2015.
