Kissimmee, FL - July 15, 2016 - Kissimmee Gateway Airport will be hosting two Pilot Seminars over the next 90 days.  Both Seminars will be conducted by Jamie Beckett, the You Can Fly Ambassador to Florida for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), a not for profit organization devoted to safety, education, and advocacy for the general aviation community.

LAKELAND, FL – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s (AOPA) President Mark Baker will host a Pilot Town Hall on Wednesday, April 6, 8:30 – 9:30 am at AOPA’s Program Pavilion at Sun ‘n Fun. Baker will update members, pilots, and aviation enthusiasts at Sun ‘n Fun on AOPA’s latest efforts in Washington, D.C. and other key AOPA initiatives. Coffee and donuts will be provided.

Washington, DC, Feb. 10, 2014 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) today joined in filing a brief of amicus curiae supporting a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) motion to dismiss the latest effort to close the historic airfield.

Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR) agents are scheduled to attend the 2013 AOPA Aviation Summit from October 10-12 in Fort Worth, Texas. The Summit is designed to provide pilots with new resources, new relationships, and ready-to-use expertise. Oh yea, and fun! We can’t forget about the fun.

AOPA has decided to suspend holding its annual Aviation Summit in favor of reaching more members “where they fly.”  Aviation Summit in Fort Worth, Texas, from Oct. 10 through 12, will be held as planned and is shaping up to be one of the best ever. We are on track for thousands of members to join us and the exhibit hall is nearly sold out, with new exhibitors still signing up. But convention plans for 2014 have been canceled.

Luyun WANG, Asia Region VP of Dayhello Hotel Group, and Tao XIAO, director of Revolutionary Committee Of The Chinese Kuomintang, visited the AOPA China headquarters and had a meeting with the AOPA China managers. AOPA China made a presentation in terms of the project of the AOPA China Flight Base (North) as well as its development prospect. Mr. WANG and Mr. XIAO are very interested in it and expressed the wishes to cooperate with AOPA China in this project, and develop it jointly to form it as an international tourism site.

June 10, 2013 - The General Aviation Avgas Coalition praised the FAA's announcement today to formally request sample unleaded fuels for testing as possible replacements to the 100 low-lead (100LL) aviation gasoline (avgas) that GA aircraft use today.

Board of Trustees to Conduct National Search for Successor

Frederick, MD - Craig L. Fuller, president and chief executive officer of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the world's largest aviation association, has notified AOPA's Board of Trustees of his intent to step down from his position and from the Board. He plans to remain in his current role until a successor is ready to assume the position. The Board will conduct a national search for his successor. Following the decision to leave AOPA, the succession process was developed by working together, said William C. Trimble III, Chairman of the Board.
