OSHKOSH, Wisconsin - (April 27, 2019) - World War II ace Clarence “Bud” Anderson, a National Aviation Hall of Fame member who was a triple ace during World War II, will be saluted during warbirds activities at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, which is July 22-28 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Pathfinder pilot Dave Hamilton will share his experiences, from Normandy to Market Garden, paving the way for the launch of The D-Day Squadron, an historic effort to cross the Atlantic with a fleet of WW2 aircraft to commemorate the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Dayton, OH - March 18, 2019 – A notable historic aircraft, named That’s All, Brother, made an unscheduled trip from its home base in San Marcos, Texas to Dayton, Ohio on March 17, 2019, to visit and honor WWII veteran Jim “Pee Wee” Martin. Martin is one of the last remaining “Toccoa Originals,” U.S. Army Paratroopers, made famous by the HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers.”

San Diego, CA – Col. Steve N. Pisanos, USAF, (Ret.), a World War II fighter double ace who served with the United States Army Air Corps, United States Air Force and as a volunteer member of the famed Eagle Squadrons of Great Britain’s Royal Air Force, has passed away, his family confirmed on June 9th. Pisanos was 96.

Birmingham, AL - May 12, 2016 - The Southern Museum of Flight invites women and girls of all ages to dress as iconic Rosie the Riveter to commemorate women workers of World War II, Saturday, May 21, beginning at 10 AM.  Participating families will be able to meet and pay homage to local Rosie's and wish founder of the American Rosie the Riveter Association, Dr. Fran Carter a Happy 94th Birthday.  A year-membership to the museum will be given to the best dressed Rosie.  Councilor Kim Rafferty, Woodlawn JROTC national award winning color guard and 1940's entertainment group Ladies Night Out will be part of the celebration.

PEACHTREE CITY, GA (March 10, 2015) – A rare 1940s B-24 Liberator bomber will highlight this year’s World War II Heritage Days, hosted by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing on April 18-19, 2015. The CAF’s B-24, “Diamond Lil,” one of only two still flying, will arrive at Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field (KFFC) in Peachtree City for the event. This historic WWII aircraft will be on display and rides will be available.
