Marks 25th Anniversary of Young Eagles Program

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (June 6, 2017) — With the goal of introducing and inspiring young kids to the world of aviation, the sky is no longer the limit because of the Experimental Aircraft Associations Young Eagles program. For the past 25 years, the program has been dedicated to giving kids ages 8-17 their first flight, free of charge. This year, International Young Eagles Day - a day focused on flying kids beyond Young Eagles year round - is celebrated on Saturday, June 10th.

Grass-roots initiative introduces millions of kids to the possibilities of flight; Former chairmen including Harrison Ford, Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger and Jeff Skiles join current chairman Sean D. Tucker, in encouraging kids to take a Young Eagle flight in 2017.

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagles program is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017, a milestone year that began with the flight of the 2 millionth Young Eagle by former Young Eagles Chairman (2004-2009) and celebrated actor Harrison Ford at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in July.
