As the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) celebrated its 75thAnniversary Homecoming at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas, members of Women in Aviation International and others in the aviation community honored those pioneering World War II women who have passed by visiting and decorating their graves during Memorial Day weekend.

October 30, 2017 – Two deadlines are approaching for individuals interested in applying for a Women in Aviation International (WAI) scholarship for 2018. In order to apply, you must be a WAI member as of November 1, 2017. Scholarship applications must be submitted online or postmarked no later than November 13, 2017.  All applications may be submitted online at www.WAI.org and applicants are allowed to apply for up to three scholarships.

October 26, 2017 – On September 23, 2017, 74 Girls in Aviation Day events were held by WAI chapters and corporate members, including 15 international chapters, 8 corporate members and 16 collegiate chapters.  International events were held in Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Switzerland, and Zambia.

September 19, 2017 – Women in Aviation International’s network of more than 110 chapters will be joined on Saturday, September 23, 2017, by some WAI corporate members to produce Girls in Aviation Day events. Celebrated worldwide, Girls in Aviation Day is designed to introduce and educate girls up to 17 years of age on the many career choices and lifestyle possibilities offered by the aviation/aerospace industry.

What started as a one-day, one-time event at EAA AirVenture in 2008 has grown and evolved for 10 years. WomenVenture, a partnership between EAA and Women in Aviation International, will take place for the 10th time in 2017.  Kicking off on Monday, July 24, 2017, AirVenture’s opening day, is an all-new WomenVenture event, the WomenVenture Social,  in Forum Building 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Preregistration appreciated – Register for the Social Here)

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (May 12, 2017) — For the 10th straight year, the opportunity for women who love aviation to build camaraderie and open doors to mentorship and participation once again comes to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017, as WomenVenture activities will take place during the week.

The opening reception of Women in Aviation International’s 2017 annual conference will be turned into a 100th birthday party for WASP Dawn Seymour.  Accompanied by her two daughters, Dawn will attend the 28th International Women in Aviation Conference to be held March 2-4, 2017, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Women in Aviation International (WAI) has selected the 2017 inductees into its International Pioneer Hall of Fame. These women will be honored at the 28th annual International Women in Aviation Conference, which will be held March 2-4, 2017, at Disney’s Coronado Spring Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The ceremony will take place at the closing banquet on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

Women in Aviation International’s next Girls in Aviation Day is officially set for Saturday, September 23, 2017. With two years of successful experience in managing this international outreach, the third International Girls in Aviation Day is set to be enhanced and expanded to include more WAI chapters and corporate members.
